Oftentimes, the term ‘perfect’ is used to refer to something that is without blemish or void of any impurities, faults, or issues. The word causes a knee-jerk reaction in a lot of us because it has, in some ways, become troublesome. It seems that it has become an unreasonable standard set by those with delusional outlooks on life.

This explains why many of us, when we find ourselves in varying states of imperfection during life’s journey, tend to defend ourselves with the constant outcry of ‘not being perfect’ especially when being confronted with our shortcomings, miscues/missteps, mistakes, insecurities, etc. But, this is a statement of the obvious. Being human and being imperfect goes without saying, however, that does not mean that we should not strive towards the ideal. Scripture states that we are to ‘press toward the mark of the high calling of God (Philippians 3:14). The Apostle Paul made it clear in his epistle to the Philippians that he has not attained or been made perfect, however, he is yet pressing…

From this, the idea of the Perfected Woman was born...

WHAT IS A PERFECTED WOMAN?

The essence of a Perfected Woman is her desire to know better, do better, and be better. She is on a continuing quest for enrichment of her spirit, soul, and body. Understanding that she has a special responsibility of carrying the torch as social architect, first teacher, and nurturer, she accepts her power and authority granted by God and walks circumspect before Him; constantly meditating on His precepts and consistently evaluating her actions and activities.

She asks herself these fundamental questions:

  • What am I doing on a continuing basis to improve my spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being?
  • How am I working to improve the lives and well-being of others?
  • Am I living to my fullest potential? If not, what is holding me back?
  • What message has been given to me by God to share with the world?
  • What kind of legacy am I establishing?
It is from the posing of these questions that she begins ‘pressing towards the mark’.

ARE YOU A PERFECTED WOMAN?
